You never would have thought that a young boy from a working class town would be given the amazing opportunity to receive a top-notch education and participate in changing the world of tech.

If you had told me then that I’d go on to found 26 companies and be a professor at MIT I may have laughed.

One teacher made all the difference. Mr. Thornton, my elementary school math teacher, noticed something about me.

He recognized that I was not doing math the same way as everyone else, I used patterns. It was my struggle with pattern recognition(which I thought was an impediment) that made me stand out to Mr. Thornton.

He saw how I was able to see patterns and extrapolate data from them, he even let me teach one of his classes! The enormous boost of confidence and excitement I received from this him have helped me tremendously.I want to empower you. I want to help learners to be teachers, to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.
